LIFE IS A MAZE by Deekay, Jakarta
Full of twists and turns,
Knowing not what lies beyond;
Sometimes seeing it clear, sometimes through a haze;
The game begins…
Life is a Maze
Every bend, every corner, holds something new,
Every bit’s an adventure, that we hew;
Emotions wrought havoc in this stage
Exciting yet fearful…
Life is a Maze
Soon we’ve covered a lot of ground,
Thinking, we know, what makes the world go round;
Cocky sure of our needs and wants, every move we make
Left, right and straight…
Life’s a Maze
Half way through, by our choices we’re bound,
Have come so far, the strategy seems sound;
Following this path, all these days
Happiness will surely ensue…
Life’s a Maze
Time passes by, doubts arise,
The road stretches endlessly, no goal in sight;
Questioning the past ,the wisdom of our ways
We drudge along…
Life’s a Maze!
Dejected, confused, hurt and lost,
Surely there is more, it can’t all be pain!
I cry out to God! Wherein lies my mistake?
Everything I did, was it all in vain?
“With flowers, trees and birds, the course was strewn,
Did you not smell ,see or even hear their melodious tune?
Life’s so beautiful, so simple in its ways;
It’s not a test but a game to be played!
Trying to be perfect? You are my piece of art!
Happiness the only measure, that you’ve done your part.
There’s nothing to fear, no right no wrong ways;
Just follow your heart, I’m with you always,”
Looking upon me, with a loving gaze,
“Life ,dear child, is NOT a maze!!”
A WALK by Chandru Bhojwani
Walked through the tortures and fires of hell
Enduring the long and treacherous journey
Of pain and suffering.
Walking alone, begging for the end,
Yet never seeing the end.
Living in hope for a brighter day,
But that hope continued to die with each passing day.
Crying with pain, suffering with grief
Living in regret, regretting the day of birth
Now in a deep blue sea, enjoying the water
Its pleasures, its vastness, its beauty, its tranquility
Smiling at life, smiling stronger, wiser
Smiling at life, because I survived.
OUR EGO by Sapna Uttamchandani
Under a thin veil
Our ego is hid
It puts up its head
In anger
At the slightest provocation
Like the angry serpant
Who feels his domain has been threatened.
If only we realized that we are here
On this earthly plane
For but a while
And this ego helps us naught.
Not our loss nor our gain
But the respect we may earn
In God’s eyes
If we were to keep our ego in check
He would ensure
To his home – how short the trek!
My name means dream
If that be true
Then I exist not.
I live in transit
My home is elsewhere
After my earthy sojourn
I must move on to other planes
Therefore my ego is of no consequence
It has no form nor sequence
Help me God to control it
And not let it rear its ugly head.
For I need my faith and humility
To keep me in good stead
And achieve my ultimate goal
Of being at God’s side
Through time immortal.
